Jakarta — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia will never be a “servant” to other nations, urging leaders to safeguard the country from being drawn into external conflicts.
Speaking at the Declaration of the National Solidarity Movement (GSN) held at Istora Arena, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta on Saturday (November 2), Prabowo called for mutual respect among nations, positioning Indonesia as a respectful and cooperative partner.
“I want to assure everyone: we respect all nations, all powers. We want to be a good neighbor, a reliable partner. We want to be your friend, we want to be your partner, but we do not want to be your servant!” Prabowo declared.
He emphasized that the Indonesian people are independent and aspire to live with dignity.
During the event, Prabowo expressed gratitude for the support of his followers, commending their ongoing efforts to help those in need. He specifically praised initiatives such as providing school uniforms, which have a tangible impact on children’s access to education.
“I thank you for this declaration and for all you’ve done. You’ve taken real action—school uniforms worth Rp1.2 million each, enabling children to attend school,” Prabowo noted.
He also reiterated his commitment to launching the free nutritious meals program for schoolchildren. Additionally, Prabowo revealed a new initiative for electric rickshaws, announcing that 1,000 electric rickshaws are being produced by the local company PT Len Industri. These rickshaws will be prioritized for rickshaw drivers aged 60 and above.
“We’re implementing the free nutritious meal program and supporting the defense industry. PT Len is producing electric rickshaws, and we’ll gradually distribute 1,000 of them, prioritizing drivers over 60 years old who still depend on rickshaw work,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
