Bogor – President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of Central and Regional Governments at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday (November 7). The event brought together 5,360 officials from national and regional levels.
During the meeting, Prabowo stressed the importance of efficiency and strict oversight in implementing policies across both central and regional governments. He underscored that decision-makers must adopt these measures to ensure Indonesia’s prosperity and financial strength.
“This is my first opportunity to address all key decision-makers in our republic. It’s a highly valuable and strategic moment,” Prabowo stated.
He also expressed gratitude for the initiative taken by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, who organized the event.
“My thanks go to the Minister of Home Affairs for organizing this national coordination meeting. I deeply appreciate this effort,” he said.
The attendees included 525 heads of departments and agencies, high-ranking officials (Echelon I), representatives from ministries and institutions, 496 provincial-level officials, 38 governors, representatives from the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), the Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics, heads of One-Stop Integrated Services offices, and 4,369 municipal and district-level officials, along with 98 mayors and regents. Cabinet ministers and deputy ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet were also in attendance.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya reported that Prabowo called on all regional leaders to cut budgets and increase efficiency, pointing out that the government loses significant potential revenue due to inefficiencies.
“The President has directed all officials to implement cost-saving measures and avoid unnecessary expenditures,” Bima Arya said after the event.
According to Bima, Prabowo further instructed the Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and all agencies to work cohesively to ensure that government programs effectively reach the people.
“There are areas where costs can be saved, and there are matters that can be addressed with stricter measures. He conveyed his intent to involve everyone in safeguarding state funds,” he explained. (RR)
