Prabowo Subianto Arrives First for Exercise and Drills in Magelang, Analyst: A Leader Who Sets an Example

Magelang — Political analyst Ujang Komaruddin highlighted the leadership qualities of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, noting his display of discipline and responsibility on the first day of the Merah Putih Cabinet Retreat in Magelang, Central Java, Friday (Oct. 25).

This morning, Prabowo and members of the Merah Putih Cabinet participated in a morning exercise and marching drill at Pancasila Field, Military Academy Magelang. Notably, Prabowo was the first to arrive on the field, soon followed by ministers and deputy ministers.

“What President Prabowo demonstrated by arriving first exemplifies the qualities of a leader who leads by example — showing discipline, responsibility, and deep care for his subordinates,” Ujang told reporters on Friday (Oct. 25).

Ujang outlined three key takeaways from Prabowo’s actions during the retreat in Magelang, which he believes reflect the core training principles being instilled in the cabinet members.

“At least three elements can be observed from this retreat: intellectual conditioning, mental conditioning, and physical conditioning,” Ujang explained.

Under the intellectual conditioning category, Ujang noted that participants are trained to think systematically, rationally, and with a people-centered approach.

In terms of mental conditioning, the ministers and deputy ministers are being strengthened to develop resilience and endurance, as they have committed to working tirelessly for the public’s welfare.

The third component, physical conditioning, is equally important. Ujang explained that the physical training, including marching drills, not only aligns members to a shared rhythm but also fosters physical well-being.

“A minister or deputy cannot afford to fall ill, as illness would hinder their ability to perform. Nor should they be lazy or lack dedication, as they have sworn to work in the public’s interest,” Ujang concluded. (RR)
