Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto delivered a powerful message to newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) during the 2025 Officer Commissioning and Oath-taking Ceremony, held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (July 23).

In his speech, President Prabowo emphasized that TNI and Polri officers are the pillars of the Republic and the last line of defense for Indonesia’s freedom. He urged all graduates of the military and police academies to become true servants of the nation—devoted to the people and faithful to their oath.

“TNI and Polri are the pillars of our Republic. They are the final bulwarks of our independence and sovereignty,” Prabowo affirmed.

“Be soldiers of the people, national soldiers, soldiers of struggle. Be police of the people, national police, police of struggle. Always defend your people. Always love your people. You are the sons and daughters of the Indonesian people.”

Prabowo reminded the young officers that defending the nation is not a light task—it is a sacred duty born from the blood, sweat, and tears of Indonesia’s struggle for independence.

“Our nation was forged in struggle. We gained our freedom through blood, sweat, and tears,” he said.

He stressed that Indonesia will inevitably face challenges and threats from abroad, making strength and readiness from the nation’s armed forces and law enforcement non-negotiable.

“We must be prepared. Our nation will be tested, will be challenged. If we are not strong, we will be trampled, divided, and forced to yield to the interests of others.”

The President also extended appreciation to the trainers and families who shaped the character and integrity of these young patriots.

“I thank the trainers and mentors who have forged these young patriots, and I thank the families—mothers and fathers—who have allowed their sons and daughters to serve the nation as officers.”

“Being an officer, a soldier, is an honorable calling—but not an easy one. You must lead by example, with courage, wisdom, and pride. The people of Indonesia place their hopes in you. Serve them with all your heart.”

President Prabowo closed his address with a firm encouragement:

“Congratulations to the 2025 TNI–Polri junior officers. The nation, the people, and your homeland await your noble service.”
