Denpasar — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, inaugurated the Ngoerah Sun Wellness and Aesthetic Center (NSWAC) in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday (June 25), emphasizing the urgent need to develop international-standard healthcare facilities within the country to strengthen Indonesia’s economic resilience.
“With facilities like this, Indonesians seeking high-quality medical services no longer need to travel abroad,” Prabowo stated in his remarks.
“This is a crucial step toward strengthening our national economy—not only by curbing the outflow of foreign exchange but also by attracting foreign patients to come here instead,” he added.
NSWAC, a premium healthcare facility under the umbrella of the Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, is designed to serve both domestic and international patients with a focus on wellness and aesthetic care.
Prabowo praised the advanced infrastructure and services offered by NSWAC, citing them as evidence that Indonesia is capable of competing with top global medical destinations.
“I see this collaboration as truly exceptional. The facilities are modern, the technology is cutting-edge, and the center has already begun drawing international attention. This is a remarkable achievement we should all be proud of,” he said.
With a touch of humor and candor, the President added, “I must say, I’m quite interested myself—who knows, maybe I’ll sneak in for a visit one day.”
The initiative aligns with the Indonesian government’s broader strategy to reduce medical tourism abroad, retain healthcare spending within the country, and position Indonesia—especially Bali—as a hub for international medical and wellness tourism.
