President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, stated that Indonesia and France hold great potential to make meaningful contributions to global stability, both geopolitically and geo-economically.
“France and Indonesia can make a valuable contribution to geopolitical and geo-economic stability,” Prabowo said during the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (May 28).
Prabowo warmly welcomed Macron and highlighted the importance of this moment as both nations celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
“First, welcome to Indonesia. Thank you for the great honor you’ve given us through this esteemed visit. This year, our two countries commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations,” Prabowo said.
He also emphasized the solid foundation of the bilateral relationship, which has long been nurtured under a strategic partnership framework.
During the same occasion, President Macron expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Indonesia.
He also noted the rapid growth of bilateral ties over the past decade.
“Our relationship goes back a long way—75 years—with extraordinary development over the last 10 years,” Macron remarked.
