Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the People’s Republic of China in pursuit of a peaceful, secure, and prosperous regional order for all.
The statement was delivered during an official bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday morning (May 25), following a ceremonial state welcome.
“Indonesia stands ready to build a safe and prosperous region. We are fully prepared to deepen our cooperation with China to jointly create a peaceful and secure environment for everyone,” said President Prabowo.
During the same meeting, Premier Li conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from Chinese President Xi Jinping, while underscoring the importance of advancing a shared future between the two nations.
“First of all, I would like to convey warm greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Your Excellency,” said Li.
Li also recalled President Prabowo’s visit to China in November last year, which he described as a milestone that produced a significant consensus between the two leaders.
“During Your Excellency’s visit to China last November, both of our heads of state reached an important consensus on building a China–Indonesia community with a shared future, one that carries regional and global significance,” Li stated.
He added that the purpose of his current visit is to further expand cooperation across various key sectors.
“The goal of this visit is to deepen collaboration with the Indonesian side in a wide range of relevant fields,” he said.
The visit also marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China and serves as a strong signal of their growing strategic partnership amid an increasingly dynamic global landscape.
The welcoming ceremony was vibrant and symbolic. Along the route to the palace, 400 Indonesian students from various educational levels waved both the Indonesian Red-and-White and Chinese flags—an expression of friendship and solidarity fostered from an early age.
