Denpasar – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, inaugurated the Ngoerah Sun Wellness and Aesthetic Center (NSWAC) at the Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday (June 25), calling it a remarkable achievement for Indonesia’s healthcare system.
“This is a truly proud moment. It’s an accomplishment that proves we are fully capable of delivering healthcare services that rival the best found abroad,” said President Prabowo in his speech to medical professionals and invited guests.
He further emphasized that the presence of a modern healthcare facility like NSWAC not only raises the quality of public health services but also contributes to strengthening the national economy. By offering world-class treatment domestically, Indonesians no longer need to seek medical care overseas—an expense that has long weighed on the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
“With a facility like this, our citizens in need of premium healthcare no longer have to travel abroad. This will significantly help us strengthen our national economy,” he added.
NSWAC is a newly developed unit under RSUP Ngoerah that focuses specifically on wellness and aesthetic medicine. The center offers four flagship services: medical check-ups (MCU), aesthetic dentistry, dermaesthetic treatments, and plastic surgery. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the center is also positioned to serve the international market.
Before the inauguration, President Prabowo toured the facility with Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya, and senior officials from the Ministry of Health. Also present were Dr. I Wayan Sudhana, President Director of RSUP Prof. Ngoerah, and Dr. Nahla Shihab, General Manager of NSWAC.
President Prabowo expressed hope that centers like NSWAC will serve as models for similar developments in other regions and help position Indonesia as a leading destination in the global medical tourism sector.
