Denpasar – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, officially inaugurated the Ngoerah Sun Wellness and Aesthetic Center (NSWAC) in Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday (June 25).
The inauguration marks a significant step in the government’s broader effort to provide world-class healthcare services domestically, while also reducing the outflow of foreign exchange caused by the high volume of Indonesians seeking medical treatment abroad.
During the event, President Prabowo lightened the mood with a spontaneous remark that drew warm laughter from the audience.
“Personally, I’m quite interested. Who knows—maybe I’ll come here quietly one day. After all, my teeth could use some work too,” he said, smiling as the crowd responded with chuckles.
Before the inauguration ceremony, the President toured the NSWAC facility, located in West Denpasar, accompanied by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. (Inf.) Teddy Indra Widjaya, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
Also present were Dr. I Wayan Sudhana, President Director of RSUP Prof. Dr. I G.N.G. Ngoerah—the hospital behind the initiative—and Dr. Nahla Shihab, General Manager of NSWAC.
A development of the state-run RSUP Ngoerah, the Ngoerah Sun Wellness and Aesthetic Center is dedicated to specialized care in wellness and aesthetic medicine. The center offers four flagship services: comprehensive medical check-ups (MCUs), aesthetic dentistry, dermaesthetic treatments, and plastic surgery.
This initiative is part of the Indonesian government’s continued push to strengthen healthcare infrastructure at home—offering modern, high-quality alternatives to overseas treatment and supporting the broader vision of health tourism in Bali.
