Bondowoso— President Joko Widodo called on all government officials—both at the national and regional levels, including state-owned enterprises—to deliver the highest quality public services with transparency and integrity.
“This is a momentum we must safeguard,” President Prabowo said during a video conference at the inauguration of renewable energy projects across 15 provinces and the expansion of oil production at the Cepu Block in East Java, Thursday (June 26). “I remind all officials—central, regional, and BUMN—to work efficiently, provide the best service, and uphold clean and transparent management.”
Prabowo issued a firm warning against wasteful spending and any leakages in public finances that could lead to corruption. If these issues are addressed, he believes Indonesia’s economy will accelerate significantly toward the national vision of a just and prosperous society.
“Stop the leakages, stop the waste, and eradicate corruption,” he declared.
“If we do that, our economy will grow rapidly, the people’s welfare will improve, and Indonesia will become an advanced, modern, and prosperous nation.”
During the same event, the President revealed he had received reports indicating Indonesia holds substantial reserves of oil and natural gas. The technology needed to harness those resources is already available. Nevertheless, Prabowo emphasized that renewable energy—especially solar power—is the true future of the nation.
“Solar energy enables villages, districts, regencies, and even remote islands to achieve energy self-sufficiency. This is a tremendous hope for Indonesia’s bright future,” he explained.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2060 and expressed confidence that Indonesia could emerge as a global leader in the energy transition.
“We have the potential to be among the first countries to reach net-zero emissions on time,” he stated.
