Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has reminded all state officials not to reduce Pancasila to merely a chant or slogan.
According to the President, the values of Pancasila must be implemented in service to the people to ensure there is no longer any misuse of power or budget leakage.
“My fellow citizens, do not let Pancasila become just a chant. Do not let Pancasila become a slogan. Indonesia’s wealth is vast—it must be enjoyed by all Indonesian people,” said Prabowo during his speech at the Pancasila Day commemoration held at the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday (June 2).
He firmly stated that he would not hesitate to dismiss any official who disobeys the law or shows disloyalty to the Republic of Indonesia.
“All misconduct, all leakages must stop. Any official who cannot carry out their duties should resign before I remove them,” Prabowo stressed.
He expressed confidence that Indonesia can grow stronger if it is free from corruption, manipulation, and fraud. Therefore, he called on all parties to unite in fighting corruption.
“I believe—and I am confident—that in the midst of global challenges, the strength of the Indonesian nation will only come if we are united. We will only be strong if our country is free from misconduct, corruption, manipulation, and fraud,” he said.
On this occasion, Prabowo also reaffirmed that poverty and hunger must no longer exist in Indonesia. He encouraged the public to monitor violations and not hesitate to report them.
“There must be no poverty in Indonesia, no hunger in Indonesia. Let us unite. Don’t hesitate—if you see officials or leaders violating the law, report them! Today we have technology. Every citizen in every village can use a gadget. If you have evidence, share it immediately. Do not tolerate misconduct. Do not tolerate officials acting as they please,” he concluded.
