Prabowo Arrives in Thailand to Warm Welcome from Senior Officials and Military Honor Guard

Thailand — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at Don Mueang Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand on Saturday evening (May 17) at 10:00 p.m. local time. He was greeted by senior Thai officials and received full military honors upon arrival.

Wearing a brown safari suit and traditional black peci cap, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed on the tarmac by top Thai dignitaries, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira, Trade Minister Pichai Naripthaphan, Thai Ambassador to Indonesia Prapan Disyatat, as well as Indonesia’s Ambassador to Thailand Rachmat Budiman. Also present was Indonesia’s Defense Attaché in Bangkok, Colonel Cke. Faisal Rahmat Hutagalung.

“Welcome, Mr. President,” the Thai officials said as they extended their greetings.

Prabowo shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with each official before saluting the military honor guard, who stood at attention in ceremonial formation.

Following the airport welcoming ceremony, the President proceeded to his official vehicle and was escorted to the hotel where he will be staying during his working visit to the Land of Smiles.

President Prabowo’s visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties between Indonesia and Thailand across key strategic sectors, with the goal of fostering tangible benefits for both nations.
