Prabowo Addresses Turkish Parliament: “Powerful Nations Are Oppressing the Weak!”

Ankara – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto addressed members of the Turkish parliament in Ankara on Thursday (April 10), speaking candidly about the growing uncertainty in global affairs.

In his speech, President Prabowo not only highlighted the instability plaguing the world but also underscored the ongoing oppression of weaker nations by more powerful ones.

“We are witnessing a world filled with uncertainty,” Prabowo said. “And we feel that there is still oppression by powerful nations against those that are weak.”

He pointed out the hypocrisy of many countries that often speak of democracy and human rights, yet remain silent in the face of blatant human rights violations—particularly the ongoing bombings and civilian casualties in Gaza. In contrast, Prabowo praised Turkey’s leadership for its firm stance in defending the oppressed, including the Palestinian people.

“Many nations talk about democracy and human rights,” he said. “But when children and mothers are bombed in Gaza, they stay silent. They pretend not to see, and act as though such atrocities are not violations of human rights.”
