Jakarta, August 7, 2025 — Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Noudhy Valdryno, emphasized President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to advancing the role of Indonesian scientists on the global stage.
President Prabowo envisions greater collaboration between Indonesian researchers and international scientists. “Collaboration with global scientists will further illuminate Indonesia’s path toward becoming a developed nation,” Ryno said in Jakarta on Thursday (August 7).
He added that the President encourages scientists to be more present in the public sphere, underlining their strategic importance in realizing his administration’s ambitious target of 8 percent economic growth over the next five years. Scientists are expected to play a central role in driving national industrialization through downstream development, technological mastery, and human capital enhancement.
“This vision aligns with the Asta Cita, particularly the fourth pillar: strengthening human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievement, gender equality, and the empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities,” Ryno explained.
In support of this focus on scientific advancement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is hosting the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI), held from August 7 to 9 at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), West Java.
The PCO praised the convention as a timely and essential platform to convene the nation’s top scientific minds.
“This convention is an initiative of President Prabowo to bring together researchers and leading academics, especially in STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—to unite around a common vision of advancing the nation,” said Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, during the opening of KSTI 2025.
With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 serves as a collaborative forum linking academia, industry, government, media, and civil society in an effort to accelerate Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy.
The event has drawn more than 2,000 scientists from across the country. Minister Brian described KSTI as a strategic
