Bogor — A rare and heartwarming scene unfolded at SDN Cimahpar 5 in Bogor on Friday afternoon (May 2). President Prabowo Subianto sat among rows of tiny chairs in a classroom, joining elementary school students to closely observe the teaching and learning process.
It was National Education Day, and the President of Indonesia chose to spend the moment with young students, witnessing firsthand how government-provided technology is beginning to reshape classrooms across the nation.
With genuine curiosity, President Prabowo listened attentively as teachers and students explained how they use the interactive Smart TV provided by the government to support their daily learning activities.
The device is part of the broader digital transformation in education, currently being rolled out in schools nationwide through the Accelerated High-Impact Results Program (PHTC).
Mr. Damu, a sixth-grade teacher at the school, shared how enthusiastic students have become while engaging with the digital board in class.
“It really makes teaching easier—especially for us from generations X, Y, Z,” said Damu. “Kids today are naturally drawn to digital learning tools like this. It’s user-friendly and comes with materials from grades 1 through 6.”
In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that school digitalization is a vital component of the government’s broader efforts to elevate the quality of education throughout Indonesia.
“This is only the beginning. We’ve started upgrading 11,000 schools, and we’ll continue making improvements,” Prabowo said confidently. “As part of this, we’ll install smart TVs in classrooms across the country.”
The President’s presence—watching a real classroom session and sitting among the students—left a meaningful impression on teachers and children alike.
