Boyolali – Culinary businesses involved in the free nutritious meal programme are grateful to be able to have a direct positive impact by employing local people in the programme.
Sugiri, supervisor of Yayasan Bangun Gizi Nusantara, which is led by culinary company Wong Solo Group, revealed that his company employs around 150 people from the local community in running the programme promoted by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
The foundation is tasked with distributing free nutritious meals in Ngemplak, Boyolali, Central Java. They manage the two Gagaksipat SPPGs by mobilising people from residents around the SPPGs who have undergone kitchen management training with standards set by the National Nutrition Agency.
‘We employ approximately 150 local workers in the two kitchens in Gagaksipat,’ Sugiri told reporters on Wednesday (8/1).
‘In addition to the children getting better nutrition, we also employ local people, and traders will also be greatly helped by the nutritious meal programme,’ he continued.
Sugiri said that as a culinary business player, his group is grateful to be able to play an active role in the success of this programme.
‘We feel very touched to be involved in this programme. We are very grateful to Pak Prabowo for organising this programme,’ he said.
As for the head of production at the Gagaksipat kitchen, Adinda said she was proud to be involved in working for the government’s flagship programme.
‘As the head of production, I feel happy with Mr Prabowo’s programme. I also feel helped and grateful that I am involved in the success of this programme,’ she said.
Adinda said the food menu they prepare varies, ranging from rice, processed chicken, meat, vegetables, fruit, and eggs. To ensure the quality of nutrition, they also involve competent nutritionists.
‘We have competent nutritionists to supervise the nutrition that is appropriate for students or for the beneficiaries we are aiming for,’ said Adinda.
In addition, the food processing process is also ensured cleanliness through predetermined standards, where employees wear hair nets, masks, gloves and boots. (RR)
