Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto hosted former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for a dinner and reunion at his residence on Jl. Kertanegara No. 4, South Jakarta, on Friday evening (6/12).
Jokowi arrived at Prabowo’s home around 8:00 PM WIB, where he was warmly welcomed by Prabowo, who wore a brown batik long-sleeve shirt, while Jokowi opted for a dark blue batik.
Prabowo shared the purpose of the meeting, explaining that it was a return visit and an opportunity to catch up.
“I heard that Pak Jokowi was in Jakarta, so I invited him over for dinner. I once visited his home in Solo, so I thought it was my turn to host him here at Kertanegara,” Prabowo said. Prabowo revealed that the dinner menu featured a simple dish close to many Indonesians’ hearts: fried chicken.
“Fried chicken and other dishes,” he said with a smile.
Jokowi, in turn, expressed that the visit was both a return gesture and a chance to reconnect.
“He [Prabowo] visited me in Solo after a trip to Merauke. Now that I’m in Jakarta, I thought it would be fitting to return the visit because I missed him,” Jokowi remarked.
At the end of the evening, Prabowo escorted Jokowi to his car, expressing his gratitude for the visit.
“Thank you, thank you. Have a good evening,” Prabowo said as they bid each other farewell.
The visit was yet another demonstration of the warm camaraderie between the two leaders, showcasing their continued friendship beyond political roles. (RR)
