Bali — President-elect Prabowo Subianto accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Gala Dinner for the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday night, September 1.
During the opening of the Gala Dinner, Jokowi warmly welcomed all the delegates and expressed that Indonesia was deeply honored to host the High-Level Multistakeholder Partnership Forum and the Second Indonesia-Africa Forum.
“Welcome to Bali, Indonesia, and thank you for being here. Indonesia is honored to host the High-Level Multistakeholder Partnership Forum and the Second Indonesia-Africa Forum to advance inclusive and sustainable global development,” said Jokowi.
In this second IAF, Indonesia and Africa reaffirmed their commitment to working together in inclusive bilateral relations and maintaining the solidarity between the two regions.
“Indonesia remains committed to strengthening cooperation and solidarity with African countries and regions, and this will be continued by the next administration,” Jokowi added.
At the same event, Jokowi introduced Prabowo to all the delegates, emphasizing that diplomatic relations will continue seamlessly under Prabowo’s leadership.
“Therefore, on this joyous occasion, allow me to introduce Indonesia’s president-elect, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, who will be inaugurated next month and will lead Indonesia into the future,” Jokowi announced, glancing towards Prabowo, which was met with applause from the attendees.
Prabowo then promptly stood up and greeted the delegates, acknowledging those on his left, right, and behind him.
It was noted that several African leaders had arrived in Bali to attend two significant events: the High-Level Multistakeholder Partnership Forum (HLF MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF), held in Nusa Dua, Bali, from September 1-3, 2024. (RR)
