Jakarta — A total of 71 percent of Indonesians support and view favorably the budget efficiency policy implemented under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.
This finding was revealed in the latest survey released by Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO), titled “Social Analysis: Public Perception on Government Optimism and Performance,” conducted from May 22 to 28, 2025.
In the survey, IPO noted that President Prabowo has introduced several populist policies during his first six months in office, one of which is budget efficiency.
“Another widely known policy among the public is budget efficiency, which, much like the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, has also sparked both support and criticism,” IPO stated in its official release on Sunday (June 1).
When asked, “How do you assess the government’s budget efficiency policy?” 71 percent of respondents rated the policy positively.
In response to another question—“Are you satisfied with the government’s budget policy?”—62 percent of respondents said they were satisfied.
The IPO survey used a stratified multistage random sampling method with a total of 1,200 respondents. The margin of error for this survey is ±2.90 percent, with a 95 percent confidence level.
