Serpong — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received strong endorsement from the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA), as the organization’s President, Carole J. Gali, expressed confidence that under his leadership, Indonesia would emerge as a strong and sovereign nation.

Speaking at the opening of the 49th Annual IPA Convention and Exhibition at ICE BSD in South Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday (May 21), Gali emphasized the importance of alignment between government, industry, and society to drive progress in the energy sector.

“We need innovation, agility, and strong alignment among government, industry, and the public,” said Gali. “Mr. President, we believe in your vision for a strong and sovereign Indonesia.”

This year’s convention carries the theme “Driving Growth through Energy Resilience in a Low-Carbon Future”—a reflection, Gali said, of the shared commitment between the oil and gas industry and the government to position energy not only as an engine of economic growth but also as a foundation for opportunity, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

“We are committed to supporting that vision by meeting Indonesia’s energy needs and contributing to a responsible energy transition,” she added.

Gali also voiced optimism about advancing technological collaboration to reduce emissions and boost industrial competitiveness, particularly through the adoption of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies.

“At the same time, we welcome the global energy transition,” Gali said. “Technologies such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) offer powerful tools to reduce emissions while supporting continued industrial growth.”
