Singapore – A warm and joyful atmosphere enveloped the hotel where President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, arrived on Sunday evening (June 15) during his state visit to Singapore. Indonesian nationals living in the city-state—including students from Sekolah Indonesia Singapura (SIS), university students, and members of the Indonesian community—turned out in full spirit to welcome their president.

As Prabowo stepped out of his vehicle, he was greeted by the enthusiastic cheers of schoolchildren waving miniature Indonesian and Singaporean flags.

“Welcome, Sir! Welcome, Mr. President!” the elementary school students shouted in unison, filling the hotel lobby with a vibrant sense of national pride.

The excitement extended beyond the young students. Indonesian university students and other members of the community had also gathered to welcome Prabowo, many eagerly capturing the moment with selfies alongside the head of state.

With his characteristic warm smile, Prabowo took the time to greet each attendee, engaging in light conversation and posing for photos with both students and members of the public. He even paused for a brief chat with the SIS children.

Zizi and Farhan, two of the students, expressed their delight after meeting the President.

“We’re so happy to see and meet him in person. Thank you, Mr. President, for coming to Singapore. We wish you good health and success in your duties,” they said.

The occasion was also a moment of pride for the educators at Sekolah Indonesia Singapura. Michael Hary, one of the accompanying teachers, voiced his appreciation for the President’s visit.

“We are honored to welcome Mr. President here in Singapore,” he said. “It’s truly uplifting for the children. They’re now even more motivated to learn and contribute to building the future of our nation.”
