London — Following his meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto proceeded to visit UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s residence at 10 Downing Street, London, on Thursday (11/21).
Prabowo arrived at Downing Street at 11:36 a.m. local time, wearing a gray coat and black peci. He took a moment to greet members of the media and offered a respectful salute.
At the start of their meeting, PM Starmer warmly welcomed Prabowo, describing the encounter as a privilege.
“Welcome. It’s truly extraordinary to have you here. It’s true we met earlier this week, but your visit here to Downing Street is a privilege,” said Keir to Prabowo.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening the longstanding cooperation between Indonesia and the UK across various sectors and global strategic issues.
“We can talk about anything. This is very, very good,” said Keir.
Prabowo shared his thoughts on the meeting, expressing his gratitude and honor.
“Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister. It’s an honor for me. Finally, I see the inside of Downing Street,” Prabowo remarked.
Accompanying Prabowo in the meeting were Foreign Minister Sugiono, Deputy Chairperson of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Budi Djiwandono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (RR)
