Jakarta — The Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, outlined the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) as a detailed implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s vision and mission, focusing on poverty alleviation as a key goal.
“The RPJMN emphasizes reducing the poverty rate to 4.5% by 2029 and eradicating extreme poverty entirely by 2026,” Rachmat stated during the Musrenbangnas RPJMN 2025-2029 event held at Bappenas on Monday (December 30).
Other goals include achieving a Human Capital Index score of 0.59% by 2029 and reaching an 8% economic growth target.
Rachmat also highlighted strategies to lower poverty levels, including integrated social protection, community empowerment, and improvements in education and healthcare services.
“Strategies to enhance human capital quality focus on providing nutritious meals, eradicating tuberculosis, building new exemplary schools, integrating healthcare services, and improving the quality and welfare of teachers,” he explained.
The RPJMN also incorporates eight strategies and various policy measures to drive sustainable economic growth to 8%.
“These strategies include increasing agricultural productivity to achieve food self-sufficiency, advancing industrialization and downstreaming, and adopting green and blue economic models. Policies include deregulation of licensing, fiscal sustainability supported by the Ministry of Finance, and pro-growth monetary policies,” Rachmat elaborated.
He added that the RPJMN provides performance indicators and development priorities reflected in the five-year National Strategic Projects (PSN).
“PSN represents selected priority projects that significantly contribute to achieving RPJMN targets, including 17 priority programs and eight quick-impact initiatives. One of the most impactful PSNs is the Free Nutritious Meal Program,” Rachmat said.
The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program aims to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women, young children, and school-aged children, while also boosting student performance and participation.
“This PSN will improve public welfare, create jobs, and increase economic growth by 0.86% in the first year of the RPJMN. With state spending of IDR 71 trillion, this program will contribute a 0.86% increase in growth,” Rachmat concluded.
