Malaysia – An intimate moment between the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim occurred when the two met at Rumah Tangsi in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Thursday (9/1).
Prabowo’s arrival at the Tangsi House was received directly by Anwar. He even picked Prabowo up from the vehicle he was travelling in. The two figures who have long been friends then shook hands and laughed at each other.
Inside Rumah Tangsi, Prabowo, who came wearing a brown batik shirt, was greeted by a mini exhibition entitled ‘Merentasi Samudera: A True Bond, a Legacy’.
The exhibition included artworks created by local Malaysian artists. A number of the paintings depict cultural and historical connections in the neighbouring country. At this moment, Anwar was seen explaining some of the works to Prabowo.
Afterwards, Prabowo and Anwar enjoyed lunch while being accompanied by traditional gamelan music. On the sidelines of the meal, the two seemed to exchange ideas enthusiastically.
During this meeting, Prabowo and Anwar discussed bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as discussed various global and strategic issues to strengthen the ties between the two countries. (RR)
