Brazil — President Prabowo Subianto departed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday evening (11/19/2024) local time. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Several officials in Brazil were present to see Prabowo off at Base Aerea de Gaelon, including Indonesia’s Ambassador to Brazil, Edi Yusup, and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Brasilia, Colonel Inf Rizal Ashwam Amanda.
Before boarding the plane, Prabowo approached members of the media stationed near the aircraft. While giving a thumbs-up gesture, he expressed his gratitude to Indonesia’s national football team for their impressive performance and 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.
“Insha Allah (qualify for the 2026 World Cup). Thank you, thank you, Indonesia’s national team, extraordinary,” said Prabowo, raising his fists in a spirited gesture.
Prabowo also shared his impressions of attending the G20 Summit for the first time, including his bilateral meetings with several heads of state from G20 member nations in Rio de Janeiro.
“Good, very good,” he told reporters.
“Yes, we have a lot of cooperation with France, many advances,” Prabowo added.
After leaving Brazil, Prabowo is heading directly to London, England. Following his visit to London, he will stop in Dubai for a state visit before returning to Indonesia.
This overseas tour has been a long journey, lasting two weeks. Prabowo returns home bringing numerous benefits from various cooperative agreements forged during the trip. (RR)
