CKG Program to Reach All Faith-Based Schools Across Indonesia

Jakarta, August 5, 2025 — The Free Health Check in Schools (CKG) program aims to reach at least 53 million students across Indonesia. This nationwide initiative will include all educational institutions—public, private, and religious schools—under the supervision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which alone oversees 12.5 million students.

Hariqo Wibawa Satria, Senior Expert Staff at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), noted that Indonesia, with its population of 285 million, is the fourth-largest country in the world. “Every citizen, without exception—including school students—will receive free health checks,” he said on Tuesday (August 5).

“Whether they attend public, private, or religious-based schools, all students will benefit from this program. President Prabowo envisions a Golden Generation by 2045. We should commend the Ministry of Health for its tireless efforts in executing this important initiative,” he added.

According to Hariqo, President Prabowo sees every Indonesian child as a vital national asset. This belief has shaped several of his strategic policies and priority programs during his first nine months in office. These include: Free Nutritious Meals, Free Health Checks, Capacity Expansion of Public Hospitals (RSUD), the People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat), Garuda Schools, School Revitalization, Digital Learning Initiatives, and numerous scholarship programs.

In addition, the President has signed Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Electronic System Governance for Child Protection, and Presidential Regulation No. 81 of 2025 granting special allowances for medical specialists and sub-specialists working in remote, border, and island regions.

While visiting the CKG implementation at Asshiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School in Jakarta, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar confirmed that the program will include all religious-based education units, such as madrasahs, pesantrens, Christian and Catholic schools, Hindu Widyalayas, and Buddhist Dhammasekhas—demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive, interfaith service delivery.

As of today, there are 12,548,995 students under the Ministry’s supervision who are eligible for CKG services. This includes:

9,179,847 students in madrasahs (MI, MTs, MA), 3,339,536 santri in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), 18,090 students in Christian educational institutions, 7,032 students in Catholic schools, 3,421 students in Hindu Widyalayas, and 1,069 students in Buddhist Dhammasekha schools

Minister Nasaruddin emphasized that the rollout of CKG in religious schools is a crucial milestone in advancing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, particularly in developing a generation that is healthy, intelligent, and globally competitive.

“Out of the 12.5 million students under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, reaching them through the CKG program is essential for supporting the 2045 vision,” he said.

He called on all religious schools to fully support the initiative—not only by preparing classrooms or halls as examination sites, but also by providing basic equipment such as height measurement tools, weighing scales, and vision screening sheets. “We also ask teachers and school staff to be actively involved in technical support and coordination,” he added.

Minister Nasaruddin has instructed all Regional Office Heads (Kanwil) and District Heads (Kankemenag) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs throughout Indonesia to closely monitor the program’s implementation.

“Any schools that fail to take this program seriously will receive our special attention,” he warned.
