Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto officially unveiled the Maung MV3 EV “Pandu,” a groundbreaking domestically developed tactical electric vehicle by PT Pindad, at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2025 held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (June 11).
The inauguration was marked by Prabowo personally signing the vehicle’s body moments after formally opening the prestigious international defense exhibition. Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2025, themed “Defense Partnership for Global Peace and Stability,” will run for four days, from June 11 to 14.
With enthusiasm, Prabowo affixed his signature to the electric 4×4 tactical vehicle Maung MV3 EV, which has been named “Pandu”—inspired by the character from the Mahabharata epic, symbolizing a trailblazer and pioneer.
The Maung MV3 platform has previously been developed in various configurations, including the Garuda Limousine variant, which now serves as President Prabowo’s official vehicle for presidential duties.
In his speech, Prabowo underscored the importance of mastering technology and scientific knowledge, particularly in the defense sector, as a foundation for national self-reliance.
“I was invited to inaugurate this expo, which aims to provide opportunities for domestic defense industries, friendly nations’ defense industries, Indonesia’s academic community, political and social leaders, and of course, the younger generation of the Republic of Indonesia to stay informed on technological and scientific advancements—particularly in defense,” said Prabowo.
Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2025 serves as a vital platform to showcase advancements in military and defense technology, while fostering global networks to enhance Indonesia’s sovereignty and competitiveness in the modern defense industry.
