Bogor – Hundreds of students had the opportunity to witness the arrival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his delegation, who were also warmly welcomed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Wednesday (12/2),
Arriving at 11:30 a.m., Erdogan and his delegation were welcomed by a guard of honour, a cavalry and a 188-piece Lokananta drumband. The warmth of this welcome was also enlivened by around 200 students from various school levels in Bogor City.
Fabiana Quinnaira from SMPN 3 Bogor and Muhammad Zidni Dermawan from SMPN 15 Bogor were among those who had the opportunity to welcome the Turkish President. They said they were proud that their school was chosen to witness this rare moment.
‘Very proud and very grateful because among the many junior high schools or schools in Bogor City, SMPN 5 Bogor is one of the schools chosen to welcome,’ said Fabiana.
‘It is an honour to be present at the welcoming of President Erdogan. I am also proud to be chosen to welcome him here,’ said Zidni, another student.
Both of them said that they had done training for the welcoming ceremony, trying to practice marching and welcoming in Turkish, which means ‘Welcome to Indonesia’.
‘I’m grateful that my school was chosen to welcome us,’ said Zidni. (RR)
