During the Officer Oath Ceremony (Praspa) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7), a moment of camaraderie was captured between President Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, who is also the President-elect.
The trio attended the event from the commencement of the ceremony through to the photo session. They walked together, engaging in conversations punctuated by smiles, reflecting a harmonious relationship.
The ceremony was witnessed by 906 cadet officers (Capaja) commissioned as TNI and Polri officers. The cadets included 417 from the Military Academy (Akmil), 129 from the Naval Academy (AAL), 113 from the Air Force Academy (AAU), and 247 from the Police Academy (Akpol).
“The Officer Oath Ceremony of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia is ready to begin,” announced the ceremony’s commander.
“Proceed,” responded President Jokowi.
During the ceremony, President Jokowi encouraged the newly commissioned officers to fulfill their responsibilities to the nation and state with utmost dedication.
“I will fulfill my duties as an officer to the best of my abilities to the Indonesian nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, which is founded on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” President Jokowi declared publicly.
