Solo — Amid the busy schedule of President Prabowo Subianto’s working visit to Solo, one heartfelt moment stood out: several ministers and deputy ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet gathered at a humble warung (street-side eatery) to sing and lift the spirits of journalists covering the presidential trip—complete with live music and casual camaraderie.
On the evening of Sunday, July 20, President Prabowo, former President Joko Widodo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and a number of senior government officials made an informal stop at Warung Bakmi Jawa Bu Citro 1, a legendary Javanese noodle spot tucked into a corner of the city.
Among those present were Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Dressed in crisp white shirts and black trousers, they blended easily into the modest setting—gathered among small tables with members of the presidential press corps.
A solo keyboard player set the tone. The microphone passed from hand to hand, and the night soon transformed into an impromptu mini-concert.
The song of the night? “Biarlah” by Nidji—a nostalgic anthem rendered with emotion by Giring himself, who brought back echoes of his days on the stage before entering public service.
Though accompanied by just a single keyboard, the atmosphere was rich and intimate. The ministers and deputy ministers not only sang, but also danced lightly to the rhythm—complete with playful “robot” dance moves reminiscent of the early 2000s.
Prasetyo and Sugiono joined in, swaying their shoulders to the beat in front of a table of steaming bakmi. Teddy, too, smiled and harmonized, immersed in the relaxed spirit of the evening.
This unscripted gathering came just ahead of a formal event the following day (Monday, July 21), when President Prabowo is scheduled to travel to Klaten to launch the Merah Putih Village Cooperative Program—a key part of the government’s mission to promote grassroots economic equity.
