Singapore – Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia is endeavoring to continuously send various forms of humanitarian aid, including medical personnel, to civilian victims of the conflict in Gaza, Palestine.
He made this announcement while attending the 21st IISS Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Saturday (1/6/2024).
“We are ready to send medical personnel to operate a field hospital in Gaza. Of course, this would be with the agreement of all parties,” said Prabowo.
He continued, Indonesia is also willing to promptly evacuate victims to Indonesian hospitals in Gaza, up to more than 1,000 people.
“President Joko Widodo has instructed me to announce that we are ready to evacuate, receive, and treat up to 1,000 patients with medical care in the near future,” said Prabowo.
He also reiterated the importance of long-term peace with a permanent ceasefire solution in Gaza. In line with this, he urged the international community to collaborate to achieve this goal.
“Let us work together to reach this goal. We must do our best to achieve a real and lasting solution,” he stated.
