Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto expressed pride that the National Brain Center Hospital (RS PON) has successfully carried out brain tumor operations.
He made the remarks during the inauguration of the Integrated Service Building and the National Neuroscience Institute at Prof. Dr. dr. Mahar Mardjono National Brain Center Hospital in Jakarta on Tuesday (Aug. 26).
“Today I am very proud. This is a highly advanced hospital—capable of performing brain tumor surgeries, of treating Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and strokes, and of providing stroke therapy with the best available technology,” Prabowo said.
According to the president, RS PON is now equipped with some of the world’s leading robotic technologies.
“Once again, thank you. This proves our determination to work hard. Thank you to the Minister of Health and the Minister of Finance for their continued support. And thank you to our international partners—I received a report that the Dutch government has also provided assistance. We are deeply grateful for their support in helping build the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
The expansion of RS PON Mahar Mardjono Jakarta includes three new main buildings—Blocks C, D, and E—which together form the National Neuroscience Institute (INN).
Block C serves as an education center, reinforcing RS PON’s role as a teaching hospital and training hub for medical professionals. It will host specialist medical training, seminars, technical health workshops, as well as a neuroscience data and reference center.
Block D is the first facility in the development of the hospital’s integrated neuroscience institute. Its primary focus is a cluster-based healthcare system that brings together multidisciplinary services in a single, efficient, and mutually supportive ecosystem. The system is designed to provide comprehensive care—from diagnosis and therapy to rehabilitation and patient education.
Several specialized centers will also operate within Block D, including: Autism Centre, offering comprehensive services for individuals across the autism spectrum, from children to adults.
Epilepsy Centre, equipped with long-term EEG monitoring and pre-surgical evaluation facilities.
Rehabilitation Centre, providing advanced neuro-rehabilitation supported by modern technology.
Stroke Centre, dedicated to integrated treatment for both acute and chronic stroke cases.
