Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (Aug. 26) inaugurated the Integrated Service Building and the National Neuroscience Institute at Prof. Dr. dr. Mahar Mardjono National Brain Center Hospital (RS PON) in East Jakarta.
“With the words bismillahirrahmanirrahim (‘In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful’), this afternoon, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the Integrated Service Building and the National Neuroscience Institute of the Mahar Mardjono National Brain Center Hospital,” Prabowo declared.
In his remarks, the president emphasized that this modern healthcare facility is on par with top hospitals abroad.
“Earlier, as I toured the hospital, I saw firsthand—its physical infrastructure, its equipment, and its specialists—that this hospital is not inferior to the best hospitals overseas,” he said.
Prabowo also praised the sophistication of RS PON, which has successfully carried out brain tumor operations.
“This is a very advanced hospital. It is capable of performing brain tumor surgeries. It can also treat Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and strokes,” he said.
“For stroke therapy, the hospital is equipped with the best technology—robotic devices and the most advanced AI tools,” he added.
Looking ahead, Prabowo underscored his confidence that RS PON will become an internationally recognized hub for research and innovation.
“We are confident that this hospital, this research center, can become a true center of excellence,” he asserted.
Attending the inauguration were Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
