Jakarta — Behind the bright smile of Zawandita, a 7th-grade student at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama 6 Jakarta, lies a deep well of hope. Whenever she talks about her future, her eyes light up with determination.

“I want to become a culinary entrepreneur because I’ve had a talent for cooking since I was little. I’ve always loved everything about food, and I want to turn that passion into success,” she said with confidence when met on Monday (August 4).

Zawandita grew up in the kitchen, and from a young age, she’s been helping her family’s finances by selling homemade treats. “My parents really support me. I’ve sold cookies and holiday sweets from home a few times to help out with our household expenses,” she explained enthusiastically.

Her classmate Rayhan shares the same dream.

“I want to become a culinary entrepreneur too. My parents are good cooks, and they’ve taught me how to cook as well,” he said with excitement. For Rayhan, his family’s encouragement is his biggest motivator. “My mom has always dreamed of me becoming a business owner,” he added.

For both students, Sekolah Rakyat—or the People’s School—is more than just a free education. It’s a gateway to opportunity, bringing once-distant dreams within reach.

“Thank you so much, Mr. President, Mr. Prabowo, for creating Sekolah Rakyat. It truly eases the burden on our parents. And we, as students, are so motivated to learn here because the facilities you’ve provided are more than enough to support our lives,” said Zawandita.

Rayhan also expressed his heartfelt gratitude. “Thank you, Mr. Prabowo, for launching the Sekolah Rakyat program. It has allowed me to go to school in a safe, comfortable, and peaceful environment,” he said, visibly moved.

In the classrooms of Sekolah Rakyat, the dreams of children like Zawandita and Rayhan are no longer just wishes. With education, family support, and equal opportunity, they believe one thing with certainty: the future now feels closer than ever.
