Jakarta, August 4, 2025 — The Free Health Check in Schools program (CKG Sekolah) officially launched today, Monday, August 4, 2025. The program rollout, which began simultaneously in 12 schools, was met with enthusiastic participation from students.
Fritz Edward Siregar, Deputy for Information Coordination and Communication Evaluation at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), stated that CKG Sekolah is one of the foundational efforts in building Indonesia’s golden generation. The school-based initiative is part of the broader Free Health Check (CKG) program, which began in February 2025.
“CKG is part of the government’s long-term cycle to build and prepare our golden generation,” said Fritz during the launch event at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 8 in South Jakarta on Monday (8/4).
This initiative is one of the priorities under President Prabowo Subianto’s Fast Results for the Best Outcomes program. “We started the year with checks at community health centers, and now we’re expanding to schools nationwide—elementary, middle, and high schools alike,” Fritz added.
At the same event, Presidential Chief of Staff Lieutenant General (Ret.) Anto Mukti (AM) Putranto emphasized the crucial role parents play in encouraging their children to take part in the health checks—especially since the service is not only free, but also proactively delivered directly to schools.
“Parents need to understand the purpose of these health checks. When they do, they’ll be more motivated to have their children examined,” Putranto said.
At MIN 8 South Jakarta alone, 617 students participated in the program. The health assessments were conducted by 30 medical personnel from the Srengseng Sawah and Jagakarsa Community Health Centers (Puskesmas).
For primary school students and their equivalents, 13 types of health screenings are provided, including: nutritional status, smoking habits (for grades 5 and 6), physical activity levels (grades 4–6), blood pressure, blood sugar, tuberculosis, ear and eye exams, dental check-ups, mental health, liver function (hepatitis B), reproductive health (grades 4–6), and immunization history (grade 1).
Launched on February 10, 2025, CKG is a cornerstone of President Prabowo Subianto’s Fast Results for the Best Outcomes agenda in the health sector. The program is part of Asta Cita and represents a transformation of the national healthcare system—shifting the focus toward promotive and preventive care.
The free health checks are available at least once a year, aiming to reach 60 million beneficiaries by the end of 2025. In the long term, the program is expected to gradually expand until it reaches the entire Indonesian population.
CKG services are delivered through community health centers (Puskesmas), integrated health posts (Posyandu), schools, BPJS clinics, offices, and local communities. The initiative is digitally integrated via the SATUSEHAT Mobile app and the Ministry of Health’s official WhatsApp channel.
As of July 30, 2025, more than 15 million people have benefited from the program. Starting in July, CKG also began targeting over 53 million elementary to high school students across 282,000 schools and madrasahs throughout Indonesia.
