Jeddah — Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have voiced deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli military offensive that has claimed numerous civilian lives and devastated critical infrastructure.
The statement was issued following the official meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS) during Prabowo’s state visit to the Kingdom.
Both nations agreed to intensify coordination on the delivery of emergency aid and broader humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
“The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue providing humanitarian aid and support for recovery efforts in the face of Israeli aggression,” read the official joint statement released by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Thursday (July 3).
In addition to focusing on the situation in Gaza, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia underscored their shared determination to deepen cooperation in safeguarding international stability and security. Both countries pledged to expand joint efforts to bolster regional peace and enhance global resilience.
The meeting was held at Al-Salam Palace in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the close strategic ties between the two nations. In official photos published by SPA, President Prabowo was seen engaged in direct discussions with Crown Prince MBS, framed by the flags of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
This commitment aligns with Indonesia’s longstanding foreign policy of supporting the Palestinian cause and advancing humanitarian diplomacy across international platforms.
