Jakarta — Following his attendance at the 79th Bhayangkara Day commemoration ceremony, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday afternoon (July 1) from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta.
Wearing a brown safari suit and black peci, Prabowo arrived at the airbase at approximately 3:15 PM Western Indonesia Time. He was seen off by several high-ranking officials who gathered to bid farewell as he embarked on his official state visit.
Among those accompanying or seeing him off were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Deputy Chair of the House Commission I Budi Djiwandono, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Mudi.
Prior to the scheduled 3:30 PM departure of the presidential aircraft, President Prabowo briefly watched a group of military cadets rehearsing a marching band performance at the airbase, accompanied by Defense Minister Sjafrie.
The purpose of President Prabowo’s visit to Saudi Arabia is to further discuss bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, with a particular focus on the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage as well as exploring other potential strategic partnerships.
