Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, called on all members of the Indonesian National Police to uphold professionalism, act with integrity, and stand as defenders of the people.
Speaking at the 79th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony held at the National Monument in Jakarta on Tuesday morning (July 1), President Prabowo emphasized the nation’s urgent need for a police force that is strong, capable, and trusted by the people.
“Our country needs a police force that is resilient, excellent, clean, and loved by the people—a police force that stands with the people, protects the people, and defends those who are most vulnerable, oppressed, and impoverished,” Prabowo declared.
The President’s appeal underscored the broader vision for Indonesia: a nation where every citizen enjoys the fruits of independence and prosperity, free from poverty, hunger, and injustice.
“Our aspiration is to build a country where all people can experience freedom and well-being. The founding fathers envisioned an Indonesia without poverty, without hunger, and filled with justice,” he added.
Prabowo also reminded the police to remain present among the people, to serve wholeheartedly, and to place the interests of the public above all else.
“Guard the people’s trust. Always prioritize the people’s interests above everything else. Never let the people down,” he urged.
In closing, the President encouraged the police to dedicate themselves to the glory of the nation and remain a force that the public can genuinely admire and respect.
“Happy 79th Bhayangkara Day. Be true guardians of the state — Rastra Sewakottama — police officers who devote themselves to the greatness of our nation. Once again, be the kind of police that the people love,” Prabowo concluded.
