Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed the players and coaching staff of the Indonesian National Football Team for a celebratory lunch at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Friday (June 6).
The event was held as a gesture of appreciation for the team’s hard-fought and historic 1–0 win against China in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match the night before (Thursday, June 5). Prabowo personally greeted the players and coaches at the front door of his home, shaking hands with each of them warmly.
“Thank you so much for coming to my home and accepting this invitation. Thank you for your hard work — we truly appreciate you and the fight you are putting up for us and with us,” Prabowo said in his remarks to the team.
The lunch took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In addition to enjoying the meal together, the players sang traditional Indonesian songs such as Gelang Sipaku Gelang and Gemu Fa Mi Re, which brought even more joy to the occasion.
The gathering served as a heartfelt show of support and encouragement from Prabowo for the players and coaching staff as they prepare for their next crucial match against Japan on June 10 — the final game of the third round of World Cup qualification.
