PCO Holds Public Hearing, Brings Officials Face-to-Face with Beneficiaries of President Prabowo’s Programs

Jakarta, May 27, 2025 – President Prabowo Subianto has launched a range of programs aimed at improving public welfare. Now, it’s time for the people to voice their opinions about these initiatives.

According to Isra Ramli, Deputy for Communication Materials and Information at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), the public must be given the opportunity to provide constructive feedback. This, he said, will help ensure better implementation and greater benefits from the programs in the future.

“Through various forms of government assistance, including in education and healthcare, the welfare of the people will improve. Poverty can be significantly reduced—even eradicated,” Isra said on Tuesday (May 27, 2025).

Isra emphasized that the government’s programs are not only designed to protect or assist citizens, but also to empower them. For example, the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program aims to improve human resource quality by providing nutritious meals to school children.

The MBG Program also opens up employment opportunities by engaging communities in food preparation. In addition, the government is delivering social assistance to 18.27 million beneficiary families, along with the Family Hope Program (PKH) to 10 million families, to help them become self-sufficient.

In his first six months in office, President Prabowo has issued at least 28 new policies—all directly addressing the essential needs of the Indonesian people. According to Isra, the PCO believes it is vital to hear citizens’ responses to these government programs and policies.

As a representative of the government, the PCO will gather feedback from beneficiaries to help ministries improve their program delivery.

In collaboration with the civic organization DPP Gempita (Millennial Movement for the Love of the Homeland), the PCO will hold a forum titled Public Diplomacy: The State Delivers, The People Respond in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The event will bring together ministers or deputy ministers and program beneficiaries from diverse backgrounds, including farmers, laborers, students, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.

“This event allows government officials to directly engage with the people. Citizens can share their testimonials, criticisms, and ideas—and officials will respond directly,” said DPP Gempita Chairperson Alfonso FP.

According to Alfonso, the government has taken the lead in efforts to improve quality of life, reduce poverty, and boost economic growth. “But how far have these programs actually reached the people? Are the social assistance and empowerment efforts truly effective? It’s time for the people to speak, and for the state to listen,” Alfonso said.
