Jakarta — Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, delivered a personal message and warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday (May 25).
The meeting took place in the credentials room following an official state welcome ceremony. At the outset of the talks, Premier Li conveyed President Xi’s respectful greetings to President Prabowo.
“First and foremost, I would like to extend warm greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Your Excellency,” Li said.
In his remarks, Li recalled Prabowo’s visit to China in November 2024 and emphasized the significant consensus reached between the two heads of state during that meeting, particularly regarding the joint pursuit of a shared future.
“During Your Excellency’s visit to China last November, our two presidents reached an important consensus on building a China–Indonesia community with a shared future—one that holds regional and global significance,” he stated.
Premier Li noted that his official visit to Indonesia aims to further deepen bilateral ties and explore broader opportunities for cooperation across strategic sectors.
“The purpose of my visit this time is to advance collaboration with Indonesia across various areas of mutual interest,” he added.
Li Qiang’s statements reaffirmed Indonesia and China’s status as strategic partners, committed to strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to regional stability and global cooperation.
