Bogor – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized that for a true leader, there is no such thing as a day off from duty.
In a briefing to the National Nutrition Agency, as well as national coordinators of SPPI and SPPG, held at his residence in Hambalang on Saturday (May 3), Prabowo shared his unwavering spirit to stay actively involved in every stage of national development, including offering technical guidance directly on the ground.
“I never get tired when I’m asked to give direction. You never know—someday you may serve as a leader, a teacher, a father figure, someone who leads by example,” he said.
According to Prabowo, a leader’s responsibility goes beyond managing bureaucracy from behind a desk. True leadership requires shaping character and fostering resilience in the field. He stressed that genuine leaders must be present, guiding and inspiring others.
In the context of implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, Prabowo affirmed his readiness to personally visit SPPI and SPPG training sites—either in person or through virtual channels.
“A national leader, a head of state, must be a fighter, a patriot, a teacher. One must never be lazy when it comes to teaching, never weary of giving direction—whether asked or not,” he asserted.
“A leader’s job is to ignite the spirit of the younger generation, to be a driver of progress—not just an observer,” he concluded.
