Palembang — President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesian farmers should be able to live prosperous lives—owning good houses, cars, and sending their children to quality schools. He expressed his desire to see these vital contributors to the nation enjoying a better standard of living.
He made this statement during the Simultaneous Rice Planting Movement across 14 provinces, held in Simpang Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, on Wednesday (April 23).
“I will only be truly satisfied when our farmers are prosperous. They should have decent homes, own cars—yes, farmers must be able to own cars. Their children must attend good schools and receive proper education,” said Prabowo during the mass rice planting event in Pemulatan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Wednesday (April 23, 2025).
He urged all stakeholders to support and absorb farmers’ large-scale production. If the nation’s food supply is secure, he stressed, the country will remain secure.
“So, we must elevate the capacity of all regions, and increase the income earned by our farmers. Farmers are producers—they are the ones feeding the entire Indonesian population. If our food supply is safe, then our nation is safe,” he said.
Prabowo also called on regional leaders to continue boosting food production in their respective areas, stressing that one of the pillars of a strong nation is sustainable agriculture.
“Just keep pushing forward. Keep fighting. Remember, a strong nation is one with strong agriculture—and prosperous farmers,” he concluded.
