Jakarta – Bengkulu University Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Candra Irawan expressed his impressions after attending Indonesian President Prabowo’s Panel Discussion with Rectors and Leaders of State and Private Universities at the Presidential Palace Jakarta, Thursday (13/3).
‘There are a lot of interesting things conveyed by the President, especially related to the issue of how rich we are in natural resources that are not owned by other countries, but unfortunately these resources have not been managed properly, and during his leadership (Prabowo) it seems to give optimism to all of us,’ said Candra.
Candra said there are a lot of natural resources owned by the Indonesian people as presented by Prabowo in the panel discussion which lasted for approximately five hours.
‘During his (Prabowo’s) leadership, it seems to give optimism to all of us that all natural resources, whether in the form of nickel, boksit, minerals and so on, will actually be used to maximise the ability of the Indonesian people,’ he said.
Another thing that he found interesting from the panel discussion between Prabowo and the rectors was Prabowo’s budget-saving policy in ministries and institutions, which could save hundreds of trillions and would have an impact on Indonesia’s progress in a brighter direction.
‘He (Prabowo) wants leaks in the state budget to be minimised, and it turns out that his breakthrough in streamlining in various Ministries / Institutions has been able to save hundreds of trillions and I think this has a very good impact if it is used to provide facilities and then build yes for the progress of the Indonesian state, I think the extraordinary optimism that he transmits to the people,’ he explained.
Candra is also optimistic that the Prabowo era will bring a brighter Indonesia.
‘Indonesia is free, optimistic!’ exclaimed Candra. (RR)
