Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he does not want to fulfil requests from various parties to run in the 2029 presidential election if the government he leads at this time does not make achievements.

‘It’s only been 100 days of work, I’ve been told to run for the presidential election. But I said, if I serve for the fourth year and I am disappointed with my achievements, I will not run in 2029,’ Prabowo said while attending the closing of the Democratic Party Congress in Jakarta, Tuesday (25/2).

Despite receiving support, Prabowo will continue to prioritise public judgement. He said he would be ashamed of the people if he had to run for vice president without recording a brilliant performance in his current cabinet.

‘I am ashamed of the Indonesian people, for what, if I can’t do it, I’d better respect it,’ he explained.

Aside from expressing a number of views, Prabowo also expressed his joy at the re-election of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as Chairman of the Democratic Party.

‘Congratulations on the re-election of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as Chairman of the Democratic Party for the next five years,’ Mr Prabowo said. (RR)
