Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani for the establishment of Danantara Investment Board. This moment occurred during the launch of the investment management agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) on the lawn of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (25/2).
Prabowo first greeted the invited guests, namely the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President, Budiono, the 13th Vice President, Ma’ruf Amin and the current Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
He then greeted several Red and White Cabinet ministers, the chairperson of the MPR and specifically the chairperson of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.
‘My honour, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Sister Puan Maharani,’ Prabowo said while making a gesture of clasping his palms together.
According to Prabowo, the support of the House of Representatives is very meaningful for the Danantara programme.
‘Without them today would not have happened. Thank you, Speaker of the House and everyone,’ Prabowo continued.
Danantara will be Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund with more than US$900 billion in assets under management (AUM). The projected initial investable funds reach US$20 billion.
The funds managed by Danantara will be used to finance sustainable and high-impact projects in various sectors, such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production. (RR)
