Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasised that BP Investasi Danantara must be auditable at any time by anyone. He emphasised this during the launch of Danantara on Monday (24/2) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

Prabowo said that Danantara must be managed in the best possible way, with great care and transparency. This is because Danantara was established for the next generation of Indonesia.

‘Danantara Indonesia is for our children and grandchildren. Danantara Indonesia must therefore be managed very carefully, very transparently, with mutual supervision,’ Prabowo said.

‘It must be auditable at any time by anyone, because this once again belongs to our children and grandchildren, to the next generation of Indonesians,’ he said.

Prabowo expressed his pride at the launch of Danantara. Danantara, according to Prabowo, is a milestone in Indonesia’s history towards economic independence, resilience and prosperity.

He also said that in the future, Indonesia would no longer sell cheap natural resources to other nations.

According to Prabowo, the establishment of Danantara marks a new era for SOEs, which are not just business entities, but national assets that will become agents of economic development and growth. He emphasised that SOEs must operate with high standards, the best governance and prioritise innovation, big ideas, technological advances, while maintaining discipline, prudence and commitment to good and responsible governance.

‘I am confident and believe Indonesia will continue to move forward stronger and more united than ever. With this belief, let us move together, united in purpose, firm in determination, and confident that Indonesia’s greatest achievements are still ahead,’ Prabowo said.

‘Believe that Indonesia will achieve its goals. We will become a developed, prosperous, honourable country,’ he continued. (RR)
