Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto had lunch with Indonesian 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla while discussing various strategic issues at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/2).
Prabowo welcomed Jusuf Kalla to the Palace that afternoon.
‘After eating, we will talk seriously,’ Mr Prabowo said at the start of the meeting.
Meanwhile, after the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, who was also present at the lunch, stated that the meeting between Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla was to exchange ideas about various matters, one of which was how to absorb grain that is good and right for the nation and state.
‘Yes, Mr JK (Jusuf Kalla) gave input, because he has a lot of experience, gave input on how to move forward. How to absorb grain, how the green revolution used to be, how Bimas gave input and that is good input for us,’ Amran told the media crew.
Furthermore, Amran also explained that the two figures discussed food issues ahead of Ramadan which will take place next month so that it can be maintained.
‘The second is the preparation for Ramadan. We maintain the food supply, cooking oil, meat, rice, Insha Allah, it is safe, we have a lot of stock, there are 2 million tonnes in Bulog, we are preparing it. We are confident that facing the holy month of Ramadan, we are sure that food will be relatively stable,’ Amran continued.
Also attending the lunch with Jusuf Kalla were Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (RR)
