Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a briefing at the 2025 TNI-Polri Rapim emphasised to all TNI-Polri leaders that the people demand high dedication from them.

Prabowo emphasised that TNI-Polri leaders are also required to sacrifice themselves, especially with the mandate and trust given to them by the people.

‘Our people demand from you a very high dedication, a very high sacrifice, you can even say that you have received the mandate, you have given your soul and body to the nation and the people,’ Prabowo said at the Tribrata Building on Thursday (30/1).

The mandate Prabowo was referring to was the stars that TNI and Polri leaders wear on their shoulders.

‘The rank that you wear, the star on your shoulder, means that you are honoured by the people, because the people handed over their security to you,’ he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo explained that ranks and positions are not just statuses but carry the mandate of the people where the TNI and Polri must always be ready when the people need help in times of emergency.

‘The rank given to you means that the people understand that when needed, you must be willing to give your body and soul for the benefit of the nation and state. That is the meaning of the rank given to you,’ Prabowo said.

‘The people place the protection of themselves, their future, and the future of the entire nation on your shoulders,’ he continued.

Prabowo said this needs to be remembered by TNI-Polri leaders because they are law enforcers who also maintain state sovereignty.

‘I said their role is very important, they are sovereignty enforcers, they are guardians of sovereignty, they are law enforcers. So, I emphasise that they must be good leaders, I remind them that they are expected by the people, they are given great trust by the people,’ Prabowo concluded. (RR)
