Jakarta – Jana Abu Salha, a Palestinian student cadet representing the Palestinian people and 22 other student cadets studying at the Pertahanan University (Unhan) since two years ago expressed his gratitude to all Indonesian people, especially President Prabowo Subianto.

Jana admitted that she was very impressed with Indonesia’s attention and contribution to Palestine in terms of political support, education and humanitarian assistance.

‘I am very impressed with the Indonesian government’s contribution to the Palestinian people. Indonesia has shown its solidarity through political support, humanitarian aid, education. One example that I am very grateful for is the provision of scholarships to Palestinian children, including myself, to study in Indonesia for free,’ said Jana.

Furthermore, the cadet who studied Medicine admitted that he got many benefits from studying at the Defense University including dedication, discipline which became a motivation for him and his friends.

‘This is a form of real support that gives hope to all Palestinian young people who face limitations in education, educational opportunities and human rights in general,’ said Jana.

For this, Jana is very grateful. According to her, Indonesia is a true friend who cares about justice.

‘On behalf of the Palestinian people, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the people and government of Indonesia in general, especially to the honourable President Prabowo Subianto. Once again, thank you very much,’ said Jana.

The scholarship programme for Jana and 22 cadets from Palestine was an initiative of Defence Minister Prabowo when he was Minister of Defence. The cadets started their education at the Pertahanan University since 2023.

Prabowo’s efforts to facilitate the Pertahanan University undergraduate scholarship programme for Palestinian youths is a form of concern and cooperation between Indonesia and Palestine. The study programmes followed by the Palestinian cadet candidates are military medicine, military pharmacy, civil engineering, electrical power engineering, mechanical engineering and information security engineering for the next five years.
